Unauthorized use of the pool and exercise room has been a problem for a number of years. Too often we witness complete strangers using our facilities. People have parked in our visitor’s parking spots, used the pool, and then left without ever having been accompanied by a resident. As discussed at the Annual Meeting of October 2, 2011 the board will be taking steps to tighten access to the pool building.
Starting on Monday, November 28, 2011 we will begin to remove access to the pool building in stages based on groupings in our security system.
All residents must visit the office in order to reinstate access. We will initially allow entry to the pool building to 2 access cards per condo. Due to the approaching winter season, we will begin with Phase II so as to minimize Phase II residents having to go outside to visit the office in bad weather.
In order to minimize disruption, residents may visit the office to have their access cards reprogrammed up-to one week before access to the pool for their condo is turned off. We anticipate that Phase II will be complete by Christmas and Phase I by the end of January 2012.
Note – Some condos are listed more than once if their cards are in more than one security grouping in our system. For example, extra access to certain areas may only be allowed on some of your cards. If so, those cards would be in a separate security group. You need only visit the office one time in that case. Cards in groups scheduled for later will continue to work until pool access for that security group is turned off. It is also possible that certain keys will be affected prior to the schedule if our database is not up-to-date.

This is good news. However, the project will not be finished as planned unless office hours are extended to evenings & week-ends. We are working people... Time off is not given by any employer for this kind of endeavour.
Please post any (but preferably extended)office hours in Phase II.
Thanks,
Elizabeth
Regarding office hours:
We actually did have extra hours yesterday as the office is usually closed on Wednesday.
We posted that it would be open to do keys from 1:30 to 3:30. There were probably about 15 condos who showed up yesterday during that time.
Extra hours will continue to be made available but this is a project that will take almost 3 months to complete. Therefore it is difficult to maintain an extended schedule for that long.
We will certainly do that again on a regular basis including during the weekend. For today and Friday though it’s regular office hours 9:00AM to 3:00PM.
If you can’t make it during the regular hours, you can make an appointment and someone will be there to do your keys for you.
Also, if you can still read the numbers off the card (most are worn out), send them to us in an email and we’ll do the update without you having to go into the office.
If we post that there will be extended hours at all it will be at the mailboxes.
Excellent initiative. I would go one step further and ask everyone who comes to register their 2 access keys to sign a paper outlining rules and regulations of pool and exercise room. Some people do not wear running shoes, others do not take showers and people still may give their access key to a guest without being present with the guest. Having people sign their commitment to respecting the rules and indicating that there will be consequences to residents who do not comply, may further improve up the situation. Thanking you. Gloria
Thanks All, for the project and for posting the office hours on the bulletin board in Phase 2. Much appreciated.
Where do we e-mail the numbers off the cards or fobs, to Bogie at the office, presumably?
Cheers, Elizabeth
The best person to email is Bogie. On the weekend, you'll get faster service if you send them to me. Bogie and I are the only ones trained in the software.

Just a reminder that the first group of condos in PH2 will have access to the pool removed sometime tomorrow (Monday, Nov 28, 2011).
Generally, access to the alternate building is against our rules but we do allow it under certain circumstances.
There are a limited number of people in PH1 who also have access to PH2. These people will be affected as access is removed from each group.
If you are one of those in PH1 affected and it is important that you continue having access to PH2 please make a special request to the office.
Sending the access card numbers through e-mail for activation would be great. Which e-mail address should we use?
Thanks!
Please send the information to manager and Phil Share: manager@cascades-saint-laurent.com, philip_share@cascades-saint-laurent.com.
In your list above condos 109 and 111 exist in both Security Group 2 and 3. Does it mean that their access will be removed twice or is it just a typo?
No. It is not a typo. Our system is organized into security groups each with differences in where they could have access.
For example, Group 2 gives access to lockers on G1. Group 3 gives access to G1 lockers and the bicycle room.
If you add up the the number of condos on our anouncement, you'll find 138 condos listed in PH2 even though we only have 99 (excluding 105).
Interestingly, two condos are missing from the list because people have moved and the datasbase wasn't updated properly. One of those condos is fixed now but you won't find 1208 on the list.
If you live in 1208, please contact the office or you will have an issue shortly.
All of the old security groups for PH2 now have pool access turned off.
PH1 maintenance began to day
