PH1 Ramp Repair Update

under_construction

Although nothing is finalized at this time, these are the details of the PH1 ramp repair as of May 15, 2012.

PH2 is NOT directly affected.

More updates to follow next week.

Work

  • Five Contractors will be submitting sealed bids on Thursday, May 17, 2012
  • Work is expected to begin on Monday, June 4, 2012 and end by July 1, 2012 at the latest.
  • In order to shorten the timeframe, work will commence at 7:00 AM every day and end at 7:00 PM.
  • The first 2 days while demolition is in progress are expected to be noisy. Once the demolition is over, the noise level should diminish considerably.
  • There will be a 10 day period where the concrete will be allowed to cure. Although construction will have ceased, the ramp will still be closed to traffic.

Parking

  • The city will remove Wednesday parking restrictions for the month of June.
  • We will be assigning the visitors’ parking spots to handicapped residents during the month of June.
  • Due to the significant number of people requiring handicap parking, we are asking the city to designate a section of Cavendish for handicap parking.
  • A contract to park at Place Vertu during the month of June is in the process of being finalized.
  • We will have to supply license numbers and car make and model details to Place Vertu. They are telling us that non-registered cars who park overnight may be towed. We will be paying a fee for each car we register with them.

Garbage & Recycling

  • The garbage chutes will be closed. We will place a garbage pail with a cover in the garbage chute closet. The usual garbage and recycling containers will be stored in the driveway during the month of June.
  • Garbage on each floor will be collected every day and transported to the containers outside.
  • Please be sure to close the lid when depositing garbage in those pails.
  • For those who can, we encourage people to deliver their garbage and recycling directly to the containers in the driveway.

Other

  • Once the ramp is repaired, we will undertake a project to renew the sections of driveway asphalt that are in need of repair.
