We have
been preparing a detailed update of the pool building project but have decided
instead to provide a series of smaller ongoing updates on its important
aspects.
Chapter 1 – The Cost of the Pool Roof
The first
topic is the actual cost of the roof. There is a misconception that the pool
roof cost $165,000. That is incorrect. The $165,000 is the cost of the ENTIRE Pool Building project which includes:
·
The
Roofs (There are 2 – an upper and a lower roof)
·
Skylights
and new boxes to support them
·
Brickwork
on the walls next to the pool building
·
Interior
painting and decoration including repairs to the 2 locker rooms
·
Painting
of the Pool
·
Smart
Fans
·
Engineer
to supervise the work
·
Replacement
of one broken window and caulking of all the windows in the Pool building
·
Replacement
of the lighting
·
Caulking
of the windows of the condos bordering the Pool building
·
Insulation
of drains and pipes
The
specific cost of the roof was $55,458 which is in line with what we paid 9
years ago the last time we repaired the pool roof. It is important for people to know.
The next
chapters will deal with the current issues, what we plan to do about them, and
the schedule.
