This message is to a very small minority of our co-owners

Everyone knows that our DCO specifies that co-owners are expected to provide 12 post-dated cheques to pay their condo fees.

Of our 199 co-owners, this month, the deposit on the 1st included 176 condo fees. There are some people who have credits in their accounts and another 12 people pay electronically by internet. For the rest, some bring one cheque every 1st of the month. Others simply pay late.

We wish to remind you that if you cause us to make an extra trip to the bank, you will be charged an administrative fee of $5. This month, there were 4 cheques that just came in under the wire and another 4 cheques that just missed the first deposit. These cheques were dated the 1st but not delivered on time to be included in the first deposit. Therefore it required an extra trip to the bank and those people were charged $5.

The best way to avoid these charges is to provide post-dated cheques as per the DCO. Alternatively, the office can provide the details of how to setup an electronic transfer which is free for TD Canada Trust clients.

However, if you insist on delivering one cheque at a time dated the 1st of the month, please deliver it at least a day in advance to ensure we don’t have to make an extra trip to the bank. We don’t want your $5. We want to motivate you to help us be more efficient.
